During the India vs South Africa second Test match at Newlands in Cape Town, Virat Kohli was once again seen using his 'bail-swap' move.

Ahead of Stumps on Day 1, Aiden Markram seemingly tried to waste some time to avoid another over. This is when Kohli got near the stumps and swapped the bails.

Kohli playfully switching the bails during fielding is not new. The player had done this during the first Test against South Africa in Centurion too.

However, unlike last time where Kohli's move saw India getting a wicket in the same over, it failed to provide the guests breakthrough as Markram comfortably defended the last ball. Former India all-rounder and head coach Ravi Shastri will be honoured with BCCI's Lifetime Achievement Award on Tuesday. Shubman Gill will be presented with Cricketer of the Year award following a memorable 12 months when he became the fastest to cross the 2000-run mark in ODIs and also scored five hundreds in the format. "He (Shastri) has been chosen for the honour while Gill will be awarded the cricketer of the year," said a BCCI official. The BCCI awards will be held for the first time since 2019 and both India and England teams are expected to be in attendance ahead of the first Test beginning on Thursday.

Kohli's role as a fielder was extremely crucial during the side's third and final T20I against Afghanistan in Bengaluru on Wednesday. The Indian cricket team's triumph against Afghanistan in the 3rd T20I saw Rohit Sharma and Rinku Singh grab the spotlight with their valiant 190-run partnership for the 5th wicket. While Rohit and Rinku took India to a challenging total of 212 runs with their heroics, Virat Kohli was silent with the bat, having incurred a first-ball duck. But, despite the poor show with the bat, Kohli pulled off two exceptional moments in the field that played key roles in the hosts' triumph.

A fan caught the headlines for all the wrong reasons after he breached the security barriers to hug Virat Kohli mid-match during the second T20I against Afghanistan in Indore on Sunday. Pictures of the same incident went viral on social media and the man was detained by the police for breaching security arrangements. After detaining him, cops took the young man, who entered the ground by climbing the fence of the spectators' gallery, to Tukoganj police station. News agency PTI had reported that the man was interrogated by the cops.

All-rounder Shivam Dube's return to the Indian side has proved to be a blessing for the team. Dube registered his second half-century in as many games on Sunday as India made a mockery of Afghanistan in the second T20I in Indore. The 30-year-old has made unbeaten 60 and 63 in the first two matches, helping India seal the series with a game yet to be played. Not only that, Dube has also chipped in with a few overs in the absence of Hardik Pandya, taking two wickets as well. Ahead of the match in Indore, Dube was part of a light-hearted chat with India captain Rohit Sharma and star batter Virat Kohli, who returned to the T20I side after a hiatus of more than 14 months.

Marking his return to T20 internationals after a 14-month hiatus, Virat Kohli produced a fine cameo of 29 runs off 16 balls, showcasing a new approach to the shortest format of the game. Up against Afghanistan pacer Naveen-ul-Haq, the player with whom he had an infamous spat during the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 season, Kohli almost reacted that T20 World Cup 2022 shot he had hit against Pakistan's Haris Rauf. While the Rauf delivery had gone for a six, the shot Kohli hit against Naveen fell just short and could only fetch him 4 runs.
