Carlos Alcaraz, the top-seeded 20-year-old fresh off a Wimbledon title and winner of last year's big event in Queens, lost to No.
3 Daniil Medvedev 7-6, 6-1, 3-6, 6-3. The win was redemption for the Russian, who lost to Alcaraz in the Wimbledon semifinals back in July.
