Thiago Alcantara recently shared footage of himself completing an intense agility workout from his home and fans can’t help but cringe at the thought of him injuring himself before the season is up and running. The Spaniard has been a favourite of the Kop after he overcame initial on-pitch troubles in his debut campaign to blossom into one of the Reds’ most influential figures.
He played a blinder in Liverpool’s 3-1 victory against Manchester City last Saturday, and it’s fair to say the thought of losing him prior to the opening weekend of the season doesn’t even bare thinking about for Jurgen Klopp and his red army.
The concerns stem partly because of Thiago’s importance in the middle of the park, but they’re even more prevalent given Liverpool’s growing injury list in that specific department.
Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain recently suffered what Klopp described as a “serious” hamstring injury during Liverpool’s friendly victory over Crystal Palace in Singapore.
