Water tankers are being used after homes in Trafford were left without water today. Residents with M16, M17 and M32 postcodes have been left without water or with low water pressure following 'a number of bursts' including one on Mosley Road in Trafford Park, Stretford.
The incident was first reported just after 5am this morning (July 31). Engineers are working to fix the burst, although United Utilities said repairs were taking 'longer than expected'.
Water tankers have been brought in to pump extra water into the pipes to 'help keep taps flowing' in the meantime. In an update shortly after 2pm, United Utilities said: "The repair is more complex than we first thought, and it's taking our team longer than expected to complete the work.
All customers should have supply however this may fluctuate during peak times of the day. "Please be assured, our team are doing all they can and will have things back to normal as soon as possible.
