Prime Minister Narendra Modi met the T20 World Cup 2024-winning Indian cricket team at his residence on Thursday. The Rohit Sharma-led side defeated South Africa in the final to clinch the title but it was a bittersweet moment for Indian cricket as shortly after the victory, the trio of Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli and Ravindra Jadeja announced their retirement from T20I cricket.
However, the celebrations were huge for the side and they finally landed in New Delhi early in the morning on Thursday after getting stuck in Barbados due to bad weather.
The Indian cricket team players travelled to PM Modi's residence where they stayed till 1 PM and during the time, the cricketers had a free-flowing conversation with PM Modi.
