Steve Bruce is making a late beeline for Manchester City starlet Liam Delap in hope to bump ahead of Stoke City in the queue.

They have already reportedly missed out on former Stoke target Keinan Davis, who has joined Watford from Aston Villa. But they are latecomers to fierce competition for 19-year-old Delap, the ruthless forward who will be let out on loan by Pep Guardiola this season as the next stage of his development.
