West Bromwich Albion boss Steve Bruce has said his side did not well play well enough against Cardiff City last night. The match at the Hawthorns ended goalless, with neither side able to find a breakthrough under the lights.
Speaking after the match, Bruce was critical of the performance put on by his players. “We simply didn’t play well enough.” the Baggies boss explained, via WBA club media. “After some really good performances against Watford and then Blackburn, unfortunately, that one tonight was completely different. “That’s the frustrating thing.
We haven’t got beaten in the game, but we certainly haven’t done enough to win it and I have to be as honest as that. “Maybe there were a few heavy legs but I’m not going to make excuses because it’s the same for both teams.” Last night’s result leaves West Brom without a win in four Championship matches so far this campaign.
As well as outlining what went wrong for the Baggies, Bruce looked ahead to the weekend and targeted a positive result against Hull City. “We gave the ball away too cheaply and we made some bad decisions.” Bruce explained. “We didn’t create chances well enough and I think that was evident in the performance. “I think Cardiff played well on the night with a lot of young players in the team.
