Scales replaces injured Omobamidele in Ireland squad for Nations League

Aberdeen's Liam Scales had replaced the injured Andrew Omobamidele in the Republic of Ireland squad for the Nations League fixtures against Scotland and Armenia.The 20-year old Norwich City defender sustained a groin injury in his side's 1-1 draw against West Bromwich Albion and has been replaced in the squad by Aberdeen defender Liam Scales.The central defender has been in good form thus far this season for the Canaries, who are second in the Championship table after conceding only nine goals thus far.Scales - was was sent off in Aberdeen's 3-1 defeat to Hibernian - reported for duty this morning ahead of Stephen Kenny's squad's first training session in Dublin as preparations begin for the games against Scotland and Armenia.Kenny has options in central defence, with Nathan Collins, Dara O'Shea and John Egan in particular starting well this season, with the experienced Shane Duffy and captain Seamus Coleman also in the squad.Follow the Republic of Ireland v Scotland this Saturday (kick-off 7.45pm) via our live blog on RTÉ.ie/sport and the RTÉ News app, watch live on RTÉ 2 and the RTÉ Player, or listen to national radio commentary on RTÉ Radio 1
