Same old story for Stirling Albion as Binos crash out of Scottish Cup with Cove defeat

dailyrecord.co.uk

It was another frustrating weekend for Stirling Albion as they crashed out of the Scottish Cup – and for boss Darren Young it was a case of the same problems rearing their head again.

The Binos’ latest defeat – their second in a row to Cove Rangers across league and cup action – makes it six defeats on the spin for the Forthbank side, with the last four games seeing them rack up a dismal record of twelve goals against and just one scored.

Albion’s wastefulness in front of goal has been a theme for the season, with Stirling having the worst goals record by far in League One with just ten goals scored and cup action didn’t provoke a reversal of their fortunes in front of goal.

Instead it was Paul Hartley’s in-form visitors who showed their razor-sharp instincts in the final third via goals from Michael Doyle and Connor Scully to secure a trip to Brora Rangers in the fourth round.
