Daniel Ricciardo is going to be replaced by Oscar Piastri for the 2023 season at McLaren, according to several reports. The summer break is underway in F1 but you can forget all about there being a quiet period, with this the time of the year where drivers’ futures are usually decided for the season, and seasons, ahead.
Indeed, several drivers have contracts up at the end of the current campaign, whilst moves and deals have already been agreed for 2023 with Sebastian Vettel leaving Aston Martin, and being replaced by Fernando Alonso, whilst Alex Albon also has a new contract agreed with Williams.
One thing that is far from sorted, though, is Oscar Piastri’s future with it becoming clear that he would be on the grid for 2023 but it not certain just what colour car he would be in.
He’s been linked with the Alpine drive for a long time given he’s been in their driver programme for some time, but there is growing evidence to suggest he is going to be driving for McLaren in 2023.
