Cricketer Stuart Broad has certainly left his mark in sport. Regarded as one of the greatest Test bowlers of all time, Broad has left his professional sporting career with some massive successes under his belt.
He was a member of the England team that won the 2010 ICC World Twenty20. And being the second-highest England Test wicket-taker with 604 scalps, the 37-year-old announced his retirement just before the final Ashes Test against Australia in July 2023, singing off dramatically as he hit a six off his final ball faced.
He also took a wicket with his final delivery to secure a win that resulted in the series being drawn. So it's little wonder he has been announced as one of the nominees for this years' Sports Personality of the Year.
He is going up against Frankie Dettori, Mary Earps, Alfie Hewett, Katarina Johnson-Thompson and Rory McIlroy.
