Indian leg-spinner Ravi Bishnoi expressed his desire to bowl with Afghanistan star bowler Rashid Khan, to learn how to bowl in a partnership.

Bishnoi's rise from U19s to senior has been fast. In an exclusive interview on Sports Over the Top on Sports18, the Rajasthan player spoke about his journey of becoming the leg-spinner that he is. "I started as a medium pacer but switched to leg-spin and developed an interest and enjoyed the art of leg spin.

That is when I started taking cricket seriously when I was around 11-12 years old," remembers Bishnoi who idolises Anil Kumble and Shane Warne.

A newbie in Team India, Bishnoi's debut against West Indies earned him a man-of-the-match award. He picked up two for 17 from his quota of four overs.

The second-string Indian team would look for some stability from its openers as the hosts aim to punch above their weight and seal a memorable series victory against South Africa in the third and final ODI in New Delhi on Tuesday. After going down narrowly in the series-opener, the might of the Indian white-ball depth was in full display as the hosts won the second ODI comfortably to level the three-match series 1-1. But the Indian think tank would be a little concerned about the opening pair of captain Shikhar Dhawan and young Shubhman Gill.
The match referee for the 2nd ODI between India and South Africa, Javagal Srinath, was central to a funny incident that took place in Ranchi on Sunday. Standing next to India's and South Africa's stand-in captains Shikhar Dhawan and Keshav Maharaj respectively, Srinath forgot to hand over the coin at the time of toss.
In the 16th over, Markram was yet to get off the mark and was struggling to break free from the web created by Kuldeep. On the last ball of the over, Kuldeep got the ball to drift across Markram and then spun back in sharply. Markram lunged forward to take a defensive option.
Ravi Bishnoi might have been pushed to the reserves list in India's squad for the upcoming T20 World Cup but the young leg-spinner has no regrets about missing out on the 15-member squad for the marquee event. Bishnoi, who was part of the team for the Asia Cup, played just one game during the tournament, which came against Pakistan in the Super 4 clash. He picked one wicket and conceded just 26 runs from his quota of four overs. Prior to that, the youngster impressed during the white-ball tours of Ireland, England and West Indies, scalping 11 wickets in five matches.
The series against Australia turned out to be a great one for the Indian cricket team. The Rohit Sharma-led side went down in the first T20I, but made a strong comeback in the next two matches to pocket the three-match contest 2-1. Left-arm spinner Axar Patel was the star of the show as he was adjudged Man of the Series for taking eight wickets on three matches. He not only had the highest number of wickets in the series but was most economical (6.30 RPO) too.
After a forgettable Asia Cup campaign, where it failed to qualify for the final, the Indian cricket team started off their T20I series against Australia with a four-wicket loss. Despite putting up a 208-run total, a tame Indian bowling attack could not defend the high target. The worst part about the team is that with five more official T20Is left before the opening T20 World Cup game against Pakistan on October 23, the Indian team looks highly unsettled.
