Hojlund needs a goal Scott McTominay's heroics and Manchester United's intensity made the headlines on what was a positive night on Wednesday, but it meant Rasmus Hojlund's difficulties went under the radar.

The Dane forced Robert Sanchez into an early save but was anonymous after that and recorded an 11th Premier League game without a goal.

He's now gone 760 minutes without scoring in the league since his £72million move from Atalanta. Hojlund managed just 15 touches in 83 minutes against Chelsea, which is a surprisingly low number given his side racked up 28 shots and played the game in the opposition's half, but it is following a pattern where his involvement is shrinking. Recently, he's been less involved in the action. It's clear that the 20-year-old now needs a goal domestically. He has shown the promise that he has in Europe but if United are to salvage this season in the Premier League, they need their striker to start scoring, not matter how much of a project signing he might be.
