Rangers will appoint their new manager in the next 48 hours. The Ibrox board have made their final decision on Michael Beale’s successor who will be unveiled this week.
The club’s hierarchy were staying tight-lipped on whether Belgian boss Philippe Clement or Aussie gaffer Kevin Muscat was their preferred choice.
Former Genk, Club Brugge and Monaco head coach, Clement, has been odds-on favourite for the job. And Mailsport understands the 49-year-old was still locked in talks with Rangers on Friday afternoon over the position.
But Muscat, who will take charge of current side Yokohama Marinos against Urawa Reds in Japan this morning, is also in the running.
