Paris Saint-Germain dropped their first points of the Ligue 1 season with a 1-1 draw against AS Monaco on Sunday night. The reigning champions have made a storming start to the 2022/23 season under Christophe Galtier with three high-scoring victories from their opening three games in the French top-flight.
Having routed Clermont 5-0, annihilated Montpellier 5-2 and obliterated Lille 7-1, Monaco must have been fearing for the worst when they travelled to the Parc des Princes this weekend.
Or at least, that’s what you would have thought on paper because Philippe Clement’s men actually gave a very good account of themselves to prove that PSG aren’t quite as omnipotent as they seem.
That’s because the principality club managed to snatch a point courtesy of Kevin Volland opening the scoring in the first-half, beating Gianluigi Donnarumma with a ruthless left-footed finish.
