Manchester City made it six wins on the bounce in all competitions on Saturday with a 4-0 victory against Southampton, with you-know-who of course getting himself on the scoresheet.

Southampton were a team that caused City plenty of problems last season, as Pep Guardiola was only too keen to point out in the run-up to Saturday's match.

But City encountered few issues in breaking down a side they failed to beat in the league last season, with their biggest concern being the threat of Erling Haaland's scoring run coming to an end.

City fans needn't have worried of course - after goals from Joao Cancelo, Phil Foden and Riyad Mahrez had killed the game, Haaland powerfully swept home a Cancelo cross to score for the ninth consecutive game, a new club record.
