Pep Guardiola said that Julian Alvarez is now almost undroppable from the Manchester City team after two assists at West Ham.
Alvarez has the unenviable task of competing with goal machine Erling Haaland to be the main striker at City, and while he made plenty of appearances in his first season at the club he was unable to dislodge the record-breaking No.9.
However, injuries and departures have opened up an opportunity for the Argentine to find another way into the team and he is taking full advantage.
Alvarez has now started all five of City's Premier League games so far in this campaign and produced assists for the first two goals to help them win 3-1.
