Opener Shadman Islam played a fine knock of 93 to set the tone, while half-centuries from the Mominul Haque, Mushfiqur Rahim and Litton Das meant that Bangladesh stayed in the hunt.

Rahim and Litton stayed unbeaten overnight, and have the potential to close in on, if not overtake, Pakistan's total. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) will conduct stringent fitness tests before awarding central contracts for the next 12 months, bringing currently contracted players and other international and domestic performers into the ambit. Hasan took 5-43 while Nahid added 4-44 -- both career-best figures -- in dismissing Pakistan for 172 in their second innings and giving the visitors a target of 185 to secure a 2-0 series win in Rawalpindi.

The visitors will resume their innings at 42/0 as they 143 runs more to win.
