Manchester United supporters have hit out at the club for being prepared to sell midfielder James Garner before the transfer window closes.

As reported by the Manchester Evening News, United, who were thrashed 4-0 by Brentford on Saturday, are ready to sell the academy graduate, despite their ongoing midfield troubles.

The club is understood to value him at between £15million and £20million. The Birkenhead-born midfielder, who has not featured in either of United's opening two Premier League fixtures, is attracting interest from Tottenham Hotspur and former loan club Nottingham Forest.

Garner has spent time on loan at Forest in each of the last two seasons and played a formidable role in helping them clinch promotion back to the top flight last term.
