Former Super Eagles’ captain, John Obi Mikel, has clarified that Victor Osimhen never asked for £500,000 a week from Chelsea.
Osimhen was linked with a move to Chelsea for most part of the summer transfer window which came to an end on August 30, 2024.Reports, however, emerged that the Blues could not sign the Nigerian international because he asked to be paid £500,000 a week.Mikel who has always wanted Osimhen to join Chelsea, with the Blues legend having openly backed his compatriot to take his career to Stamford Bridge has now clarified the situation. The former midfielder offered clarity on Osimhen’s failed move from Napoli to Chelsea on his Obi One Podcast, saying the report about the striker demanding £500,000 from the Blues was false.“I was involved in the whole move to try to bring Victor Osimhen to Chelsea from Napoli and I must say that he is not the greedy type,” Mikel said.“One thing I can say is that he never asked for £500,000 a week from Chelsea.
He is not greedy, he only wants to play football and get what he deserves.”You must be logged in to post a comment. Why are you flagging this comment?I disagree with this userTargeted harassment - posted harassing comments or discussions targeting me, or encouraged others to do soSpam - posted spam comments or discussionsInappropriate profile - profile contains inappropriate images or textThreatening content - posted directly threatening contentPrivate information - posted someone else's personally identifiable informationBefore flagging, please keep in mind that Disqus does not moderate communities.
