Former India all-rounder Yuvraj Singh reflected on the recent World Championship of Legends title win against Pakistan Champions and said the feeling of winning for the country is unmatched.

India Champions defeated Pakistan Champions by five wickets in the summit clash of the inaugural WCL title in Birmingham on Saturday. "I don't think there's any better feeling than coming and winning the game for India; that's our passion.

I think you always say that it's been so many years, it's hard to get back on the field, but as I said, no better feeling. I think Australia and Pakistan were really good teams in the tournament." Yuvraj said on Star Sports. "We had to play some really good cricket to beat them, which we did.

And especially against the Pakistani bowling, we had to really plan well to beat them. Great experience, great being in Birmingham.

Former India spinner Harbhajan Singh has lashed out at a Pakistani fan on social media. The fan had posted a clip where Pakistan captain Babar Azam can be seen rejecting an interview. However, the fan incorrectly said that the interviewer was former India all-rounder Irfan Pathan. In fact, Harbhajan went as far as to mock the English-speaking ability of the Pakistani cricketers.
The BCCI, senior national team head coach Gautam Gambhir, former cricketer Harbhajan Singh and Prime Minister Narendra Modi remembered Anshuman Gaekwad as a thorough "gentleman" after he passed away following a prolonged battle with cancer. Gaekwad, who served Indian cricket as a player, coach and selector, succumbed to blood cancer on Saturday night. He donned the Indian jersey in 40 Tests and 15 ODIs. Member of the 1983 World Cup-winning side and current BCCI chief Roger Binny, also a one-time teammate of Gaekwad, said the cricketing community will miss his contribution.
Former Pakistan fast bowler Tanvir Ahmed has launched an explosive dare towards Team India in response to former spinner Harbhajan Singh's comment that there is a "safety concern" in Pakistan. Tanvir has asked India and the BCCI to tour Pakistan, saying that it is only the Pakistan cricket team who keep touring India without refusal. The row comes after reports have stated that the BCCI do not want to tour Pakistan for the 2025 Champions Trophy. On the other hand, Pakistan toured India for the 2023 ODI World Cup.

The Rajasthan Royals captain, who usually bats at the No. 3 or No. 4 spot in the Indian Premier League, was surprisingly made to open after Shubman Gill had to miss out due to a neck spasm. Though it's only been two games since head coach Gambhir took over, his ideas about the team composition have been made quite clear, especially considering the role Riyan Parag has been given.
Former India spinner Harbhajan Singh said Team India should not travel across the border to Pakistan for next year's ICC Champions Trophy as the security situation in the neighbouring country is still volatile. The veteran bowler also backed the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) decision to seek the government's approval for the visit before confirming their participation in the tournament. The Indian board has refrained from commenting on the issue and said the country's government will decide whether to travel to Pakistan. "Why should the Indian team go to Pakistan? There is a safety concern in Pakistan. The situation in Pakistan is such that incidents occur almost every day. I don't think it's safe (for the team) to go there. The stance of the BCCI is absolutely correct and nothing is more important than the safety of our players. I support BCCI's stand," Harbhajan told IANS on Thursday.
Andhra Pradesh and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) all-rounder Nitish Kumar Reddy said that he admires star India batter Virat Kohli and former South Africa cricketer AB de Villiers. Nitish was called-up to the Indian squad after a solid Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 season with SRH, for the five-match T20I series against Zimbabwe. Though he could not play due to a sports hernia injury, he has created an impression strong enough to be considered for future series with a 'Emerging Player of the Season' award worthy performance in this year's IPL, scoring 303 runs in 11 innings with two fifties at a strike rate of 143 and taking three wickets with his seam bowling.
