Nils Koppen named Rangers director of football recruitment as Philippe Clement's old ally joins Ibrox club

Rangers have confirmed the appointment of Nils Koppen as their director of football recruitment The Belgian joins the Ibrox club after previous sporting director Ross Wilson left for Premier League Nottingham Forest in April this year.

The Rangers hierarchy have been searching for the new man to lead the football strategy with new boss Philippe Clement now with his feet under the table as Ibrox head coach.

And it's a fellow countryman in 38-year-old Koppen that joins Clement, with the scout previously working under the Belgian in the youth academy at Genk between 2016 and 2018.

Koppen begins his tenure at Ibrox on January 2nd after head of Scouting at Dutch side PSV Eindhoven since the summer of 2020.
