Newcastle United linked with move for former Mapgies forward as striker search continues

Newcastle United are reportedly weighing up the prospect of re-signing Ivan Toney as they look to bolster their attacking options.

Another striker continues to be one of Eddie Howe’s top priorities as the 2022/23 Premier League campaign edges ever closer.

It looked for much of the summer as though Hugo Ekitike would be the man to fill the void at St James’ Park but he instead signed for Paris Saint-Germain.

That has left United looking elsewhere for a striker as they want to add competition, and cover, for Callum Wilson whose injury problems have been very well documented over the last few years.
