Ten-pin bowling is set to be reimagined as an engaging commercial entity with the launch of the World Bowling League, according its founder, UAE-based entrepreneur, Adi K.

Mishra. Mishra, the chief executive of League Sports Co., believes that the project is vital for the future of the sport. “Any sport that claims to have more than 150 million regular participants worldwide has enormous potential,” Mishra said. “Add a sprinkling of celebrity stardust, stunning competition locations and a focus on digital engagement, and League Sports Co.

has the recipe to transform the popular pastime of ten-pin bowling into a commercially successful global juggernaut.” League Sports Co. — under its previous name XTZ Esports Tech — announced last year that it had struck a deal that will run for up to 20 years with the International Bowling Federation to “drive innovation, growth and investment in the sport.” Primarily, this will involve the launch in 2024 of the new league, which will aim to redefine the appeal of bowling through the WBL pro tour and WBL global calendars for fans and competitors alike, as well as broadcasters, sponsors, agencies and bookmakers.

For Mishra, it is an opportunity to introduce a unifying new structure to a sport that has already benefited from passionate professional, semi-professional and grassroots participants.

New Zealand all-rounder Rachin Ravindra has been a breakout star for his team in the Cricket World Cup 2023 and he once again made an impact with a century against Australia at Dharamshala, though in a losing cause. Rachin Ravindra's explosive century and James Neesham's death over striking went in vain as New Zealand could not chase 389 runs set by Australia, losing by just five runs in a nail-biter on Saturday. Ravindra smashed 116 in 89 balls. His knock consisted of nine fours and five sixes and he struck at a strike rate of over 130. His century, the second made by the talented all-rounder in his debut World Cup, came in just 77 balls, which is the fastest century by a Kiwi in the tournament's history. Ravindra broke his own record of 82-ball century against England in the tournament opener.
After narrowly missing out on his century last week, which would've put him on level terms with Sachin Tendulkar as the batter with the most number of tons, India batter Virat Kohli was expected to deliver a good show against England in Lucknow on Sunday. However, the India star had a rare bad day as he was dismissed for 0. His stay at the crease was limited to just nine balls during the Cricket World Cup 2023 match against England in Lucknow. This was Kohli's 34th duck in international cricket, the same as Tendulkar, who played 664 match during his illustrious career. Meanwhile, the game against England is Kohli's 513th international match.
There is no doubt that Virat Kohli and Sachin Tendulkar are among the greatest cricketers. Though both of them are the players of different eras, the fans, cricket experts and former cricketers could not keep themselves away from comparing the two batting giants. Tendulkar kicked off his international cricket career in 1989 and concluded it in 2013, while Kohli made his debut for the senior men's cricket team in 2008 and continues to be a crucial pat of the team.
DUBAI: Dubai-based Baseball United has announced its first player draft.
Virat Kohli hit 95 to lead India to a four-wicket victory over New Zealand and a fifth win in five matches at the World Cup on Sunday although the superstar batsman just missed equalling Sachin Tendulkar's record of 49 one-day international centuries. Fast bowler Mohammed Shami returned figures of 5-54 to help bowl out New Zealand for 273, a total India overhauled with 12 balls to spare in Dharamsala. The Kiwis, who rode on Daryl Mitchell's 130 to post 273, suffered their first loss in five matches and are second behind leaders India in the 10-team table.
