Motherwell's Arsenal loanee looks like he can excel in Scottish Premiership, says boss after striker inspires win over Hibs

Motherwell manager Stuart Kettlewell says Arsenal loanee Mike Biereth looks like he can excel in the Premiership after an impressive debut guided his side to victory over Hibs.

The 20-year-old climbed off the bench after 55 minutes to spark the Steelmen into life, producing a strong run and assist to tee up Conor Wilkinson for the opener 11 minutes after his introduction.

He then latched onto Lennon Miller's through ball to fire a low strike past David Marshall five minutes from time. An Adam Le Fondre penalty in stoppage time made for a nervy finish, but the Steelmen held strong to move up to fourth in the Premiership with four points from their opening two games.

Kettlewell was thoroughly impressed by Biereth and believes he has the talent to be a success at Fir Park on his season-long loan from the Gunners.
