Michael Stewart says clubs in Scotland must be willing to take the chance on domestic talent more often as he weighed in on Cyriel Dessers' upturn in Rangers form.

The striker has often been lamented since moving to Ibrox from Cremonese but he has soared into double figures with three goals in as many games.

His winner at St Mirren on Saturday in the Premiership has fans and pundits alike wondering whether Rangers are starting to see what they thought they were getting when shelling out £4.3m for him in the summer, but Stewart isn't convinced.

Speaking on Sportsound, he still believes Hearts captain Lawrence Shankland and Aberdeen's Bojan Miovski would represent better value for money.
