Marcus Rashford says the Manchester United squad “enjoy” playing attacking football using Erik ten Hag’s philosophies and that the team now feels more “joined up”.

The England striker - who had an underwhelming campaign last time out - revealed that he is in a much better place this summer and admitted that his new boss has made a positive impression on him.

The attacker rediscovered his form during United’s tour of Thailand and Australia, netting twice and playing a significant role in Matty Cash’s own goal in the 2-2 draw with Aston Villa on Saturday. The 24-year-old has now detailed how the squad have taken to Ten Hag’s tactics. “He’s a positive manager who likes to play attacking football,” he told The National News following the draw with Villa. “Even when we’re defending he wants us to be on the front foot, to squeeze the pitch and press high up. “The players enjoy this because when we win the ball back we’re in a much better position to try to score.
