Marcos Leonardo's agent has confirmed the young striker is set to leave Brazilian club Santos for a move to Europe in 2024. Manchester United, Arsenal and Newcastle have all been linked with the highly regarded Leonardo, 20, and the player is expected to sign for a Premier League side when he leaves his homeland of Brazil.
Leonardo has scored 21 goals in 45 appearances for Santos in 2023 and he was subject to European interest in the summer. "Already in the previous transfer window, he had the possibility of being sold," Pimenta told Relevo. "But Santos' sporting situation was very particular.
He agreed to stay because he wanted to help out until the end of the season. He didn’t want to leave because it wasn’t the right thing to do. "But his time to make a transfer has come.
He wants to have a European experience, and his time will come this winter." The Premier League clubs previously interested in Leonardo are said to be West Ham and Nottingham Forest, but their respective proposals were rejected and the player's stock has continued to rise.
