United have provisionally planned to prepare Reguilon for their weekend fixture and the need for a specialist left-back has become more urgent after two successive home defeats.

Midfielder Sofyan Amrabat has started as an auxiliary left-back in the last two games but was exposed by Crystal Palace and Galatasaray in their wins at Old Trafford. Reguilon was not involved in team training at United's Carrington training complex on Monday but has conducted individual sessions on the grass as he continues his recovery from an apparent hamstring injury sustained in the win at Burnley on September 23.
