Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag refused to offer an opinion on the club's decision to arrange for Mason Greenwood to leave.
United originally intended to reintegrate Greenwood into their first-team squad but backtracked after their plans were leaked and prompted a backlash from supporters.
Charges of attempted rape, coercive behaviour and aggravated bodily harm against Greenwood were dropped in February and United conducted an internal investigation that lasted six months.
Greenwood had always denied all allegations. Ten Hag revealed during United's pre-season tour he gave his opinion on what the outcome should be on Greenwood's future but he was reticent ahead of United's Premier League visit of Nottingham Forest.
