Manchester United icon Paul Scholes gives verdict on Luke Shaw vs Tyrell Malacia

Paul Scholes believes Luke Shaw is “slightly ahead” of Tyrell Malacia in the contest for the left-back position in Erik ten Hag’s Manchester United side.

Malacia was Ten Hag’s first signing as Reds boss and has started nine games including Thursday’s Europa League clash with Omonia.

He was replaced at half-time in last week’s tie against the Cypriots and also in the 6-3 defeat to Manchester City after abject displays.

He sat out Sunday’s 2-1 win over Everton, the first time he has been dropped since starting the 4-0 game to Brentford on the bench.
