Manchester United fans are hoping for further reinforcements in an effort to mount a top-four challenge next season, but just as important to their ambitions will be keeping Cristiano Ronaldo at the club.
The Portuguese was labelled a 'problem' when he returned to Old Trafford a year ago, but with 24 goals in all competitions, he quickly became known as the 'problem solver' who offered a faint glimmer of hope at the end of a dismal season.
Data collected by The Sky Bet Fan Hope Survey, which polled fans across the 20 Premier League clubs, revealed 91 per cent of United fans want to see Ronaldo remain at the club for at least another year despite his desires to leave, with the veteran forward viewed as an integral part of the plans if they are to achieve any success under Erik ten Hag next season.
Ronaldo has already rejected a lucrative move to an unnamed Saudi Arabian club, and with Bayern Munich and Chelsea both distancing themselves from a deal, it is hard to see where he might be able to move and keep his dreams of playing in the Champions League alive.
