Manchester United Football Director John Murtough reportedly turned down Erik ten Hag’s request to sign Barcelona defender Sergino Dest during the summer transfer window.
According to The Athletic, Ten Hag was keen on recruiting Dest from the Catalan giants, but Murtough is said to have decided that right-backs Diogo Dalot and Aaron Wan-Bissaka would be enough for the season and rejected the deal.
The American defender went on to sign for Serie A side AC Milan on loan for the remainder of the season, where he has made one appearance since arriving at the San Siro Stadium.
