Passengers were warned to expect disruption on some Manchester rail services while animals wandered on the tracks. TransPennine Express said services between Liverpool Lime Street and York were affected this afternoon (August 13).
The animals were on the line between Dewsbury and Brighouse, in West Yorkshire. A number of passengers reported being 'stuck' on services this afternoon while the incident unfolded.
A spokesperson for TransPennine Express tweeted: "Due to animals on the railway between Dewsbury and Brighouse some lines are blocked.
