Manchester City are reportedly 'hot on the heels' of Brighton and Hove Albion's World Cup winner Alexis Mac Allister. After not appearing in Argentina's opening defeat to Saudi Arabia, Mac Allister was introduced for the remainder of the tournament and proved to be an unsung hero for Lionel Messi's team, scoring once and grabbing an assist in the final victory over France.
Upon his return to England, the 24-year-old continued to impress. He scored twice in his first game back in the FA Cup victory over Middlesbrough and he has also adapted a game to suit Brighton's needs.
At the beginning of the season, Mac Allister played in the defensive midfield role but has since played in central and attacking midfield positions.
