Manchester United slumped to one of their worst ever Premier League defeats on Saturday. However, what was most worrying of all about the 4-0 capitulation at Brentford was the fact that, deep down, it didn’t actually feel that surprising.

Considering that United are the most decorated club in Premier League history by miles upon miles, you would think that a humiliating loss of that nature would leave everybody wondering whether or not the world was ending.

And while, don’t get it twisted, fans were still pretty shocked as the first 35 minutes unfurled at the Brentford Community Stadium, it nevertheless felt in character for United amid their current crisis.

As Josh Dasilva, Mathias Jensen, Ben Mee and Bryan Mbeumo shovelled more and more misery upon the Red Devils with their goals in London, the damning takeaway was that it felt like more of the same for United.
