Manchester City will be without Jeremy Doku and Erling Haaland for a potential Club World Cup final on Friday after the duo were pulled out of the 23-man squad list submitted to FIFA for the tournament.
City have also withdrawn Kevin De Bruyne from the list. The Belgian provided a welcome boost when he returned to training in Jeddah this week but he isn't fit enough to play yet having missed four months of action following a hamstring injury.
City were required to make any changes to their 23-man squad shortly before Tuesday's semi-final with Urawa Red Diamonds at the King Abdullah Sport City Stadium and the fact that none of De Bruyne, Doku or Haaland were fit enough to make the bench meant they were removed from the list. It had initially been hoped that Haaland would return to action for City during the Club World Cup, but he wasn't involved in training on Monday and will now set his sights on a return against Everton on December 27.
