Man City are still box office for Premier League despite unresolved charges

manchestereveningnews.co.uk

Last year, the Premier League showed its teeth to throw unprecedented allegations at Manchester City... and then slipped into the shadows as its blockbuster competition was settled.

Richard Masters will have had reason to thank the Blues for taking the spotlight off him on the day they lifted the Premier League trophy, the club picking Alex Williams to hand the trophy over to Ilkay Gundogan and the players to avoid any unnecessary drama.

A year on, a repeat looks likely. With no hearing for the charges until later this year, if City are able to beat Fulham and Spurs then the trophy will be at the Etihad on the final day of the season waiting for a positive result against West Ham.
