'Makes no sense' - Manchester United fans react to Chelsea's interest in Frenkie de Jong transfer 'hijack'

The Erik ten Hag revolution is underway at Manchester United and with a new era comes new transfers. Tyrell Malacia has already signed for the club and Christian Eriksen is expected to join him on a free transfer, but one name has dominated the discussions since the window opened, Frenkie de Jong.

De Jong is the club's top target and the Manchester Evening News understands that United have agreed a deal in principle with Barcelona for his transfer, however over the past week, things seem to have stopped moving.

A number of outlets including the Telegraph have reported this may be due to a contract dispute between the club and the player over unpaid wages.

This delay however is starting to get United fans worried, firstly that the transfer might not get finalised and secondly it gives other teams the chance to swoop in and try and hijack the deal.
