M602 LIVE updates: All traffic STOPPED 'due to people in the road'

All traffic has been stopped on a stretch of the M602 motorway this morning. According to traffic alert service Inrix, this is 'due to people in the road'.

Traffic is being held on the eastbound side of the M602. It is stopped between junction one for the Eccles Interchange and junction two for Trafford Park.

Queues are building up to the closure. A congestion warning has been issued for part of the M4 between Cardiff and Newport. Friday afternoons are normally busy on the south Wales motorway but the congestion warning comes earlier than normal as people make the most of the last weekend of the half term holiday and the good weather.
Police have closed off a busy south Manchester road following reports of a collision. Mauldeth Road West, in Withington, is closed in both directions this afternoon (May 31).
A cordon is in place in Cardiff after "ordnance" was discovered. Bomb disposal experts have been called after the device was discovered on the shore off Rover Way.
