Shamrock Rovers have brought in former St Pat's winger Darragh Burns on a season-long loan from English League Two side MK Dons.Burns made over 50 league appearances in two and a half seasons with the Saints, where he won an FAI Cup in 2021.He moved across the water to MK Dons the following summer, but this season his first-team opportunities have been limited to two EFL Trophy games. The Meathman played for Northern Ireland at Under-17 and Under-19 level but he switched allegiance to Jim Crawford’s Republic of Ireland Under-21s in the spring of 2022."Darragh is one that we've always liked and we tried to sign him before he moved to England," said Hoops boss Stephen Bradley."We feel he has different attributes to what we already have in the attacking part of the pitch, which is really important and it gives us a good blend."We’ve tried to get him before and now that we can, he’s going to be a good addition to the group.

We’re delighted to get him in and get started."Elsewhere Jamie McGonigle [above] has left Derry City to join NIFL Premiership outfit Coleraine FC.The 27-year old arrived at the Ryan McBride Brandywell Stadium in the summer of 2021, netting 28 times in 92 appearances."Jamie has certainly had a positive impact for us, and has scored some memorable goals in that time," said manager Ruaidhri Higgins."I want to thank Jamie for all his efforts at the club and wish him every success going forward."
