Liverpool have warned one clumsy punter they could face a lifetime ban from Anfield and other Premier League grounds after leaving Andy Robertson in an injured heap.

The fan invaded the pitch as Jurgen Klopp's men destroyed Manchester United 7-0, with the final goal of the day by Roberto Firmino leaving Scotland's skipper injured in the celebrations as the fan came on.

Liverpool have confirmed that they are looking into the incident and have sent a warning that they plan to deal with it in robust fashion.

Manager Jurgen Klopp was seen irate as the supporter was escorted by security off the turf. A statement from the Merseyside club reads: "Liverpool FC has begun an immediate investigation to identify and ban the individual pitch runner from Sunday's Premier League fixture against Manchester United at Anfield.
