Hundreds of shoppers were evacuated from St David's shopping centre in Cardiff city centre on Tuesday lunchtime. Alarms could be heard sounding around the centre and shoppers were asked to leave stores like Primark and Boots.Many waited in Queen Street, amid reports of a small fire in a cafe in the centre.
One witness said: "I can’t smell or see any smoke or any fire engines, but all the alarms were going off."The store re-opened just before 1pm.
