LIVE: Mancunian Way shut both ways due to serious police incident - updates
The Mancunian Way is shut in both directions this morning due to a 'police incident'.
Travel services say the major road was first shut between Chester Road Roundabout and the A6 at around 1.30am. As of 6am, the road is still shut.
The Bee Network has posted on X: "Due to a police incident, the A57(M) Mancunian Way is closed in both directions. Please use alternative routes and allow extra time for your journey."
Travel service Inrix has said: "A57(M) Mancunian Way in both directions closed due to police incident between A56 Chester Road (Chester Road Roundabout) and A6 Downing Street.
"Diversion - Alternative routes via Trinity Way and Trafford Road remain open."
National Highways have said: "Be aware if you're heading to #Manchester this morning, the #A57M #MancunianWay is closed both ways due to a serious incident being dealt with by @gmpolice."
