A Leicester City XI will take on Aylestone Park in a pre-season friendly this summer as the non-league club’s new stand is officially opened.
A side set to be made up of players from City’s development squad will head to Saffron Lane for the game on Monday, July 18, with Aylestone Park hoping to welcome in a bumper crowd to their newly-built grandstand, which holds a few hundred seated supporters, with a couple of hundred more standing.
Aylestone Park, famously the boyhood club of City icon Gary Lineker, are gearing up for another season in the United Counties League Division One, Step 6 of non-league, after narrowly missing out on a play-off spot last season.
For City’s first team, friendlies are due to be announced in the near future as they gear up for the new Premier League season, with competitive fixtures released on Thursday.
