Brendan Rodgers makes promise over 'glaring' issue as Leicester City's pre-season begins

While fitness will be the focus early in pre-season training for Leicester City, it will not be long before Brendan Rodgers turns his attention to fulfilling his promise.

Members of the City squad are due back at Seagrave from Monday to prepare for the new campaign, and one of the big priorities over the six weeks leading up to the first Premier League game is finding a solution to the set-piece frailty that was their undoing last term.

In the Premier League, 20 of the 59 goals City conceded were from dead-ball situations, while a corner was the difference as they were knocked out in the semi-finals of the Europa Conference League.

Even a mediocre record at defending set-pieces would have seen City save themselves eight or nine goals, which would have pushed them up the table and allowed them to challenge Manchester United in sixth.
