A woman was arrested outside a busy restaurant in south Manchester last night. A large police response was sparked after a woman was 'seen in a vehicle with a bladed article' on Wilbraham Road in Chorlton at around 7.30pm on Friday (December 15).
Onlookers and diners inside Croma restaurant reported seeing at least five police vans on the scene as well as the helicopter overheard.
Staff at Croma told the M.E.N that police advised them to 'keep customers safe'. A woman was arrested on the scene on suspicion of affray and possession of an offensive weapon, police said. The woman has since been bailed from police custody. In a statement, a Greater Manchester Police spokesperson said: "A woman was arrested on suspicion of affray and possession of an offensive weapon on Wilbraham Road, Chorlton shortly before 7.30pm last night (Friday 15 December 2023).
