Manchester United are working on a tight budget this summer having already splashed out £55m of their £120m allowance on Mason Mount.
Andre Onana is set to cost a similar amount which does not leave much left over for a much-needed striker. It’s likely that funds generated from player sales will be used towards what will be the most expensive purchase of the window.
Ideally, United need to strengthen other areas too, including at centre-half. Harry Maguire could exit this summer and if so, a replacement back-up would quell any nerves of a shortfall.
Luke Shaw has shown he can do a job in the middle but it is still nevertheless a risk going into the campaign with only one natural centre-back - Victor Lindelof - in reserve given Eric Bailly will almost certainly be sold.
