Kejutan dibuat petenis non unggulan Marketa Vondrousova. Vondrousova menjuarai Wimbledon 2023 usai mengalahkan unggulan keenam Ons Jabeur.

Pada laga final yang dihelat di All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club, Sabtu (15/7/2023) malam WIB, Vondrousova yang berperingkat 42 asal Republik Ceko menang dua set langsung 6-4 dan 6-4 dalam waktu 1 jam 20 menit.

Pada set pertama, Jabeur sepertinya akan mudah menguasai laga saat unggul 2-0. Meski Vondrousova menyamakan skor jadi 2-2, Jabeur menjauhkan keunggulan jadi 4-2.
