Neil Warnock is pushing to bring Junior Hoilett to Aberdeen. The 33-year-old is a free agent after leaving MLS franchise Vancouver Whitecaps and can join the reds immediately.
Hoilett is in talks over a possible short-term switch to Pittodrie to link up with Warnock once again. Warnock has worked with Canadian international Hoilett - who has 62 caps - previously at Queens Park Rangers and Cardiff City.
If a deal can be done in time, Hoillett could potentially be in the squad to face Hibs on Saturday. He has also turned out for Blackburn Rovers and Reading before he moved back his homeland Canada last year.
The Dons manager has already claimed to have inherited a squad with limited options in certain areas. Wide players is an area where they are light and could do with strengthening, while the 75-year-old admits he has too many central midfielders.
